What a long drive it is!

Four hours and twenty minutes (whew!) to get here for just a weekend and it is supposed to rain Saturday.  Hmmmm.  Oh well.  We got there at sundown.  The kids had (maybe) five minutes on the playground.  Oh well.  We took a nice walk.  Lots of bugs -- not biters (with Off) -- but annoying.  Forgot the ponchos.

Got up about 8-8:30.  The kids went to the playground.  Although the park is only about 30% occupied, kids started appearing from everywhere.  There are now ten to fifteen kids at the playground.  We got site 164, directly across from the playground.  Wow ... more kids are coming.  Like the desert after a rain, all the flowers are coming out.  Just past the electric sites is a lagoon with some sort of pier.

6:30 PM  You know, it's funny.  I used to wish the playground wasn't so crowded.  Now, thank God there's 30 kids there!  It was so easy spotting Matt this morning.  He was wearing a red and white stripped shirt.  Now, hell, it's brown.  He blends in with all the rest of the kids.  As a matter of fact, he blends in with the dark.

In bed at 9 PM.  Took them (at most) 5 minutes to fall asleep.  Up at 8 AM and lunch at 11 (they really didn't eat) then back out again.  They DO NOT want to leave.  Katie's first birthday party is today and we have to go.  Oh well.  The thing the park has most is the great biking for the kids.  They could ride safely all around without worrying about traffic.

We took 30 to 4 to 20 home and had a nice trip!  Fun, fun, fun.
