Our first trip to a campground we came to love. The thing was developed and no longer exists. That is just so sad.

6/4/86

We left about 9:15 PM and got there about 1015 or so. Nice park. Very quiet and just about empty. Took about six walks (one quite long) and spent hours at the playground. A real hot, sunny, muggy, sweaty day. We had fun even though everyone was hot. At about 8 PM the rain started. The rain had been forecast all day to be heavy and long. It was light and little. Original 10 AM forecast was for 50 degrees tonight. Now they forecast mid 60s so I don't know what it will be like tomorrow. I have a NCARC meeting Thursday night so we will only be able to stay tonight.

Kids were up at 8:30 AM. We played on the playground, took walks, and ate lunch. We started to pack up and Dad got soaked -- It poured rain and rained all the way home. Nice trip even with the rain.
